strip disposable waxes

Strip disposable waxes constitute the second generation of waxes.

Strip waxes are made up principally of derivatives of rosin (esterified rosins, tackifiers) to which oils (paraffin or vegetable) are added to achieve the fluidity characteristic of this type of wax. Microcrystalline waxes and/or beeswax are added to provide creaminess and reduce sticky residues that could remain on the skin after removal. Mother-of-pearl and titanium dioxide may also be part of the formulas of these products to give them a creamy texture and various luster or pearlescent effects.

The main characteristics of these waxes is that they are applied in very fine layers and are removed using non-woven strips. To remove the wax, the paper strip is applied and smoothed with the palm so that the wax adheres to the paper. On removal, the hairs are caught in the wax, which in turn is stuck to the paper; once removed, the strips of wax are discarded, since these waxes are not recyclable.

Strip disposable waxes are also called “soft” or “lukewarm” because they need almost no heating. They don’t dry out and therefore never harden. This softness makes them both easy to use for the practitioner and comfortable for the client. Perron Rigot strip disposable waxes exist in several versions, with creamy, honey-like, or fluid texture, scented and unscented, with or without rosin, in tins or in cartridges.
