depilatory waxes and beauty care

today…

In the West, women’s legs and bodies were long hidden from view by their clothing and there was no motivation for epilation. Not until the early 20th century – after the First World War, as society and fashions began to change – did women’s bodies gradually begin to break free of the constraints.

First, necklines began to drop and arms came out into the open. Then dresses and skirts began to shorten for all women. Finally, with the development of outdoor leisure activities, as sea and sun bathing became popular, bathing attire revealed the shoulders and legs more and more. Women began shaving or epilating their underarms, legs, and swimsuit area.

In recent years, fashion and sports have ushered in a new relationship with the body. Improvements in techniques and changing esthetic attitudes are making epilation more and more widespread. Brazilian bikini waxing and men’s waxing are becoming common.
